A MATLAB program that when the user gave as input an image that contained a black outline of a shape or text, it output the coordinates that were required in order to recreate the figure (either simulation or real life). This software was used to extract the coordinates of some text, that was later recreated by the Kilobots.
The goal of this project was to characterise and improve the infrared (IR) communication between the Kilobot robots and the overhead controller (OHC).
The goal of this project was to control a swarm of Kilobot robots with brain signals only. To accomplish that, we used an EEG headset (Epoc+) that detects brain activity
and sends raw data wirelessly to a Windows machine for processing. Then the data are forwarded to an Ubuntu machine that is categorizing the data and sends the right command to the Kilobots through the IR OHC that was created in a previous project.
The inverted pendulum system is a popular demonstration of using feedback control to stabilize an open-loop unstable system. Using just an Arduino, a servo motor and 3 DC motors we made a cart that was able to balance a wooden stick in the vertical position.
During my undergrad years (when free time was still a thing) I enjoyed creating things out of microcontrollers and electronic components. With a particular interest on LEDs and persistense of vision projects, I managed to learn a lot about both AVR and PIC microcontrollers, but also about electronics in general.
